Not all Phantom 9s play the same. This build unlocks its highest potential – reengineering the head into a center-balanced, purpose-built gamer that feels automatic.

The 2024 Phantom 9 is one of the most compelling heads in the Phantom line to convert into a COG-Balanced Centershaft configuration. With its domed top line, dual racing stripe alignment, and modern winged silhouette, this head lends itself exceptionally well to a build focused on balance, stability, and visual precision.

Why This Model Was Chosen for COG Balance

The geometry of the Phantom 9 naturally supports a true COG (Center of Gravity) centershaft conversion. By positioning the shaft directly into the head’s center of gravity, the toe is neutralized–removing the toe-hang closure you see in traditional setups.

What that means for performance:

  • The putter wants to stay square to target throughout the entire stroke

  • No forced “toe rotation” or manipulation through impact

  • Ideal for players who want a more locked-in, straight-back-straight-through feel

When professionally balanced to the player’s lie angle, this setup becomes extremely automatic–producing a stroke that feels stable, intuitive, and repeatable.

Pure Face Modification

The Phantom 9 comes stock with deep face milling. For this build, we executed a pure face conversion, which:

  • Removes the deep milling from the face

  • Tightens sound & feel at impact

  • Generates a more responsive, crisp roll

The original face stamping was welded in, and a deep-edge radius pooled heel dot was added–designed to catch light and pull the paint upward, creating a gem-like visual accent.

Alignment + Aesthetic Choices

The Phantom 9’s dual racing stripe alignment is one of the most successful alignment aids created on this style of head–and it remains intact.

Paintfill: Gloss Black

  • Replaces the factory dark gray

  • Provides higher contrast for alignment

  • Increases visual clarity at address

The result is an alignment system that frames the ball and shaft perfectly, reducing distraction and instantly setting the putter on line.

Signature Tour Finish

This build features our Anti-Glare Tour Finish for stainless steel:

  • Reduces glare in outdoor play and direct sunlight

  • Provides a tour-preferred satin texture

  • Enhances alignment focus at address

When paired with the geometry of the Phantom 9, this finish works as a visual performance advantage–not just an aesthetic choice.

Candy Red Detailing

Precision, craftsmanship, and jewelry-level finishing meet on this head.

The deep Candy Red paintfills highlight the signature cherry dots and alignment accents, giving the putter a refined, gemstone-like presence.

A putter is a tool–but it’s also the one club you use more than any other on the course. Confidence and inspiration matter.

This build delivers both.

Internal Construction & the Clean-Weld COG Mod

This mod was completed with a seamless hosel and the structural weld hidden internally:

  • Shaft is inserted through the top rail

  • Welded internally for a seamless aesthetic

No exposed weld. No design compromise.

Just a clean, factory-level execution–with Tour-grade balance.

Optional Elevation: Hand-Shaped Contours

For a future iteration, we recommend adding Hand-Rounded Shoulder & Wing Treatment on this model:

  • Softens the shoulder transitions

  • Rounds the front edges and rear wing tips

  • Adds a bespoke, tour-refined silhouette

This optional enhancement transforms the geometry into a more fluid, hand-crafted look.

In Summary

This Phantom 9 COG-Balanced Centershaft build is designed for the player who wants:

✅ Zero toe-flow

✅ True center-balanced stability

✅ Cleaner alignment and reduced glare

✅ Refined feel with a pure face roll

✅ A premium, confidence-boosting build that performs and inspires

This is the type of putter that doesn’t just sit in the bag–it is the gamer.
