PUTTER COMPATIBILITY

Putter Compatibility Policy
Please read before submitting your putter.
We specialize in Tour Builds and Performance Modifications. We build putters for serious Players and Collectors.
Minimum Condition Requirement: 8/10 Good → Very Good
We are not a restoration shop.
If your putter does not meet the requirements below, it will not be approved for work.
✅ What We DO Accept
-
Milled carbon steel or stainless steel heads
(Billet milled only – not cast)
-
Oil can or oxide finishes
-
Raw carbon or raw stainless
-
Some metal finishes or platings (approval required – may require stripping fees)
If your finish is unknown, send clear photos to contact@rushkane.com before ordering.
If we receive a putter with an unknown or synthetic finish, additional stripping fees will apply before any work can begin.
❌ Finishes & Coatings We DO NOT Work On
We do not accept putters with:
-
PVD coatings
-
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings
-
Cerakote
-
Black PVD / Ion plating
-
Synthetic or polymer-based coatings
-
Anodized aluminum (removable plates are fine)
-
Nickel plating (often hides severe pitting beneath)
-
Multi-layer factory “black” coatings
These coatings are non-weldable.
Even after removal, results are inconsistent and not something we stand behind.
❌ Constructions We DO NOT Work On
-
Cast heads are not suitable for welding
-
Putters with non-metal face inserts
-
Previously modified or heavily worked-on putters (approval required)
-
Putters in poor condition (heavy dents, deep wear, restoration needs)
Important Policies
-
We do not make exceptions for “at your own risk” requests.
-
Orders are non-refundable, regardless of compatibility outcome.
-
If your putter is deemed incompatible once inspected in the shop, a replacement putter must be provided for the build to proceed.
-
If your putter arrives in worse condition than the submitted photos, additional repair or prep work may be required and will be billed prior to continuing the build.
